Fun times at American LaFrance Fire Museum in North Charleston
Posted By ShoutCarolina,Date: 04.12.2009Kids rule at the American LaFrance Fire Museum in North Charleston! Best of all it’s FREE for them to get in (just $6 for adults). Come play around with all sorts of antique fire engines, pumps, hoses, even a smoke house.
The Fire Truck Simulator is by far the biggest attraction. Kids literally line up to drive it. Inside you feel just like you’re in the middle of a fire emergency response.
Entrance to the fire truck simulator where you can play with the radio communication, fire siren and horns, and drive through the city traffic jam.
Yes there 20 cool fire trucks to check out but kids are drawn to the fire slide and pole. Even Spot, our little dalmatian puppy doll likes to go down the chute! What’s not to love?
OK here is the real deal…it’s dark, fast and furious in here!
The Fire Museum is located by the Tanger Outlet mall entrance, at 4975 Centre Point Drive and is open Monday through Saturday from 10AM to 5PM (last ticket sold at 4PM).
Fun is divine at the North Charleston Fire Museum!

Great to find this site. Will be in Charleston some this next summer. Plan a visit. Am looking for information on Silby two wheel hose cart, any ideas. In the old days if I bought a steamer, would I also have to buy a hose cart?? Am lost on how the steamer worked.

Hi Joe
Thanks for visiting and commenting on my blog. I’m not an expert when it comes to fire engines. I just wrote about our fun times at the LaFrance Museum in North Charleston.
Below are 2 websites that may give you some answers. I hope you too will enjoy your visit at the museum!
Thanks
Elena
