Team Up! Summer family fun at Edventure children museum
Posted By ShoutCarolina,Date: 06.17.2009Let’s play ball at Edventure! Team Up Sports and Science is the newest exhibit at the South’s best children museum downtown Columbia.
Here you can be a Pro NHL, NFL or MLB player for a day. It’s equally fun for children and adults, and you can easily spend an hour testing your sports skills. With a little math, some dexterity, a bit of luck and lots of patience you too can master all the games!
Think you can Bounce Pass? It’s not as easy as it looks, trust me!
Hardball, softball, no ball! Guess what sport each ball represents. This is a fun quiz for everyone.
How fast can you pitch? Now’s your chance to walk the walk and show your buddies off. I did a pathetic 32 mph…but hey we play soccer back home!
Older kids love the Ricochet Tennis game. Here you angle the tennis racket so the ball hits the wall targets.
My favorite, and most difficult game! Get a tiny basketball into one of the 3 mini hoops after you adjust the trajectory and the shot strength. I finally succeeded on my 10th trial…
Suit up and go play! Ever wonder how heavy the sports gear really is? Find out at Edventure where you can literally wear the shoes, pads, helmets, and shins of a football, baseball, soccer, or hockey player!
Of course nothing beats the “real” deal. Or so it seems at the virtual sports machine. Here you can jump in the middle of a soccer game, downhill snowboard race and more. What’s neat, the whole family can compete!
The Team Up exhibit is free with museum admission. Make sure to check out the incredible Blooming Butterflies outdoor exhibit, filled with hundreds of joyful butterflies and vibrant summer flowers ($3 extra, free for members).
Let the games begin at Edventure!
