Mad crow disease at Edisto Island Serpentarium!
Posted By ShoutCarolina,Date: 06.05.2009We’ve just visited the modern Edisto Island Serpentarium, the only place in South Carolina to admire gigantic alligators, exotic turtles and tortoises, magnificent snakes and stunning lizards, in like-natural habitat exhibits.
The highlight of the day were the live presentation of venomous snakes in SC (daily at 11, 1, 3 and 5PM) and the outdoor alligators feeding (daily at noon and 4PM).
Yet it was not the slithering copperhead, nor Big George, the 12 foot long gator that took the spotlight. Instead, a feisty, pitch black mama crow “stole Christmas” with her hour long antics!
You see, a sneaky-witty buzzard parked himself near the poor bird’s nest looking for an easy meal off the alligators’ lunch.
The crow would have not of it. She croaked, she cloaked, she flew round and round and even punched the guy to get him off her property! But he wouldn’t bulge much to her frustration and our delight…
