Soar and explore adrenaline fun! Zipline and rope climbing challenge, an exciting family adventure at Broadway at the Beach
Posted By ShoutCarolina,Date: 01.05.2011Lean, mean fun machine! Broadway at the Beach now boasts “Soar and Explore”, zipline and ropes challenge course, an action-packed family entertainment!
The 1000 foot long zipline travels about 50 feet above water (one of the few to do so in Southeast). The price is $20 and you need to be at least 56″ inch tall to ride.
That’s how it looks from the launch platform. To the right, notice the yellow building, future home to WonderWorks science museum that will open in Spring 2011.
The 3 levels 40 feet high pirate-themed ropes course, challenges you to navigate 33 different climbing elements, totaling over 3,000 ropes and cables.
The higher you go the more difficult the course becomes.
There are narrow steps, swings, tight ropes, suspended bridges, ladders, jungle lianas and vertical monkey bars!
You can easily spend an hour juggling back and forth…This is a “Fear Factor” obstacle the whole family can enjoy!
The rope challenge is $11.99. You can get the combo ticket (1 zipline ride + 1 rope challenge) for $26.99. We were lucky to get the Holiday Special, where everything was $5 off! Arrrgh!
“It’s scary mom! What if I fall in the water?!” No worries, you’re perfectly safe harnessed in and permanently attached to the security rope.
By the way, she did go all the way to top…Holding on to one of the friendly staff, she managed to climb down nice and easy.
For the rest of the day she proudly showcased her “I did the rope challenge” sticker!
How’s this for a one of a kind father and son lifetime memory? Gotta admit the little boy was fearless, he completed most of the course mainly by himself!
Come to Myrtle Beach for a thrilling and affordable family vacation!
