During Thanksgiving holiday weekend, my daughter and I spent a delightful afternoon inside the picturesque Cheraw State Park (one of the largest in South Carolina), located minutes from the historic downtown. Admission is free. The park is open year around 7AM to 6PM (9PM in the summer). Office hours are 11AM-5PM daily.

The redesigned Discovery Place is one of the coolest science museum on the East Coast. There is something for everyone to experience. Admission is $12 for adults, $9 for kids 2-13 and free for those 2 and under.

Kids things to do at Cowpens National Battlefield near Greenville
