The Upstate South Carolina is “God’s Country” and Western North Carolina is the “Land of the Waterfalls”. Either is about one hour drive from Greenville, a perfect fun family getaway for the weekend.

The Cowpens National Battlefield Park in the South Carolina Upcountry features the most important Revolutionary War battle of the Southern campaign. The park is open daily, 9AM to 5PM (closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s days). Admission is free.

What a Halloween blast at EdVenture!

The inaugural “Beakers and Broomsticks” Halloween party rocked the house! For only $7 kids enjoyed pumpkin smashing, slime, glow bugs, fake eyeballs, laser fights, light graffiti, Frankenstein microscope, dancing, treats, costume contests and… full access to the museum!
The highlight of the party…blasting pumpkins from the roof!

This year I revisited my favorite beast, Utan the King of Crocs and most famous VIP of the Alligator Adventure zoo in North Myrtle Beach.

The one ton, 20 foot long crocodile continues to captivate visitors without moving a finger! He lets his monster teeth do the talking.

The summer is sizzling in Columbia. Beat the heat and enjoy the outdoors at Saluda Shoals Park, a magnificent, fun-packed riverfront park near Lake Murray. Admission is $5 per car and $11 per bus ($1 cheaper for Lexington and Richland 2 residents). Annual passes are available.
