This year I revisited my favorite beast, Utan the King of Crocs and most famous VIP of the Alligator Adventure zoo in North Myrtle Beach.

The one ton, 20 foot long crocodile continues to captivate visitors without moving a finger! He lets his monster teeth do the talking.

I’m always fascinated by his alien scruff tough looking [...]

Cherry Grove Beach in North Myrtle Beach is where the Intracoastal Waterway meets the Ocean. It’s breathtaking. Winter is my favorite time at the beach. It’s so peaceful. You’re completely detached from every day worries, free to think, watch and just breathe.

Some come to fish from the famous Cherry Grove Pier, home to world record [...]

Snakes, snakes, snakes! Seems that everything you hear this days is about snakes. Well they deserve it. Snakes come in all shapes and sizes. They’re excellent climbers, swimmers, runners and even jumpers. Above all they’re the ultimate killing machine.

Unlike its bigger commercial ridden cousin, Broadway at the Beach, Barefoot Landing feels authentic, easy going and intimate. Here are some of the fun activities you can do with the kids:

Alligators are truly amazing creatures. We are so blessed to still see them all around South Carolina (like the Alligator Adventure and Huntington State Park in Myrtle Beach or Charles Towne Landing and Audubon Swamp Garden in Charleston, or Edisto Island Serpentarium in Edisto).

Just recently, Business Week published an article underscoring once more [...]
